Name: Colony Open Mic: Featuring Nick Martin
Date: May 22, 2017
Time: 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
The COLONY Team is very excited to roll out our Monday Night Open Mic, welcoming songwriters from all over the Catskill and Hudson Valley regions to take the stage and showcase their finest original works. We will only be allowing original and musical material - no spoken word, poetry and comedy. Here's how it will work:

Up until 7:30pm, performers can arrive and write their names on a slip of paper that will go into a hat/ice bucket/tbd container. At 7:30 the evening's host will pull out names in random order, announce the names and compile the list. At 8pm, the first named pulled from the hat, slot #1, starts the night! You should know the name of the performer listed before you and be ready to go when they are done. 1 song, up 6 minutes, no exceptions - so don't waste your stage time tuning up, please get it done before you step up there. After each song, our host will announce the next performer and also who is on deck and double-deck. At 10pm there will a 30 minute set by a Featured Performer, initially to be booked by our team but very soon to be pulled from the ranks of our open mic regulars and audience favorites. In addition to the intimate environment, attentive audience, and professional concert staging and sound, COLONY will also provide performers with the use of our Martin D28 house guitar, and our 1880s Steinway upright piano, upon request. Note: the piano will be mic'd and lit where it stands, adjacent to the bar and sound booth, and will not be moved to the stage. If we get through the list and still have time remaining, performers will be encouraged to go up for another song or two until the evening winds down. More details to come, but that's the gist of it. See you Monday night!
