Event Description:
PERICLES, PRINCE OF TYRE is the Woodstock Shakespeare Festival’s featured presentation this summer. A romantic odyssey with an Evil Queen, Pirates and Goddesses, PERICLES is rarely produced today, but it was one of the most popular plays in the Bard's time.

Christopher Martin directs this summer’s show. He was Founding Artistic Director of the Classic Stage Company (CSC Repertory) in New York City, where he directed and acted in more than 100 productions. He has directed, designed and composed music for productions in national and state theatres abroad, and has written several novels. Along with some new faces, actors returning this year include Justin Waldo and Yasemin Eti in the leading roles, along with David Aston-Reese as the chorus.

The play will be presented outdoors on the Woodstock Shakespeare Festival Stage. Bring a chair, bring a blanket, bring a picnic, bring a friend, bring the family. There is no charge for admission; donations are encouraged, however.
