Event Description:
How do a pot and its surface work together? Why is this important to functional pottery? In this demonstration workshop Todd Wahlstrom will throw clearly stated functional pots and address them with a variety of surface and alteration techniques. Applying and patterning thick slip, impressing textures and changing a pot’s geometry are among the ways he will integrate form and surface to create pots that invite touch and communicate through their use.
