Since 1995, Bird-On-A-Cliff, has produced free outdoor Shakespeare in the town of Woodstock. BOAC began with a production of ''Much Ado About Nothing'' at the old Woodstock Playhouse site. In early spring of 1996, BOAC was given the approval by the Woodstock Town Board, to construct an outdoor Elizabethan Stage designed by Broadway designer Sal Tagliarino at the Comeau Property in Woodstock. In 2005 BOAC received a matching grant from the Catskill Watershed Committee and rebuilt it’s Elizabethan Stage; after which BOAC entered into a formal lease agreement with the Town of Woodstock to use the stage to continue to present free Shakespeare on the Comeau property through the years.
