We have a fresh approach to ice cream and desserts. Nearly everything we put in our ice cream comes from the Catskills – from the milk to the unique ingredients.
We want everyone, from our local neighbors to weekend visitors, to feel at home at Nancy’s. We hope you enjoy the familiar tastes of your childhood, as well as new flavor combinations not usually found in frozen desserts.
Behind Nancy’s Ice Cream are Kathy and Sam, former design professionals in New York City who began living part time in Woodstock in 2010. Following Kathy’s successful fight against breast cancer, the couple decided to live in the Catskills permanently in 2015.
Kathy and Sam spent years in New York and London, and their travels have brought them to such far-flung locales as Paris, Rome, Munich, Cannes, Prague, Doha and Shanghai. The desserts they’ve developed for Nancy’s reflect many of the exotic flavors they experienced abroad.
The Catskills have also been a never-ending source of creativity. Both for their personal artistic endeavors—Kathryn is a painter, Sam a photographer—and now for the artisanal frozen delights they are imagining at Nancy’s.
Who Was Nancy?
Nancy was Kathy’s mom, and routinely made magic in the kitchen, from homemade bread to desserts. After Nancy lost her battle against breast cancer, Kathy was determined to continue her legacy...and thus the idea for Nancy’s Ice Cream was born.
''She turned everything to gold.'' –Kathy
